Toshiba Has just developed a Micro Nuclear Reactor which is about 100x smaller than normal reactors we've seen. This reactor Is designed to be 20 feet by 2 feet. So This could mean a whole new era for remote communities, middle sized o large companies and normal communities.
The 200 kilowatt reactor is fully automatic and will never over heat and is designed to be fail safe. The new revolutionary technology uses reservoirs of liquid lithium-6, an isotope that is effective at absorbing neutrons.
Toshiba expects to install the first reactor in Japan in 2008 and to begin marketing the new system in Europe and America in 2009.

Announcing NetBSD 4.0
" Major achievements in NetBSD 4.0 include support for version 3 of the Xen virtual machine monitor, Bluetooth, many new device drivers and embedded platforms based on ARM, PowerPC and MIPS CPUs. New network services include iSCSI target (server) code and an implementation of the Common Address Redundancy Protocol. Also, system security was further enhanced with restrictions of mprotect(2)
to enforce W^X policies, the Kernel Authorization framework, and improvements of the Veriexec file integrity subsystem, which can be used to harden the system against trojan horses and virus attacks.

Firefox 3.0 Beta 2 is Faster Than Ever.
ZDNet has done an article on the newly released Firefox 3.0 Beta 2. Though visually it is identical to Beta 1 some major work have been put into the internal workings of this release. The New Beta 2 is much more snappier and reaction times to opening Tabs, Find functions and zooming are much much faster than the previous releases even in the slowest computers.
Though the Beta 2's memory foot print is very much like that of Beta 1 alot of work has been put into closing up those ugly memory leaks that we saw on Beta 1, and the change is really easy to sense. Also a number of Security Features have been updated and also alot more personalizing options are available. Another fact is that The Font and graphics rendering capabilities have also been updated so we can look forward to some nice web surfing up ahead. Till now, these are all the updates that i know of, Will keep you guys posted as it progresses.
